Airplane hair

We're Home!!! God bless the USA!!!!

I love this country and I am happy to be back in it!!!! What a wonderful country that allows us the freedom to bring children from other countries to it and then allows them to call it home. Our country may have its problems, but let me tell you, spend a few weeks in a communist country and you will be singing the praises of this country no matter what!!!
Our little red bird is home and she is happy. Thanks so much for your prayers and encouragement during our journey. All the children are loving her to pieces and it is like she was made for us, I think she was. I will include pictures of her "airplane hair", meeting her new siblings and extended family, and her first car seat ride home. All events went smoothly, even the 13 hour flight home she was amazing!!! Not sure how it happened but it took us over 30 hours to get home. We left Friday, your time, at 5:00am and arrived Saturday, your time at 9:40 am. I will tell you it was brutal, not because of Brighton, she did great, but the jet lag and travel exhaustion is unbelievable. The toughest part was a 9 1/2 hour layover in LAX after the 13 hour plane ride. Our plane was delayed, so what was supposed to be a 7 1/2 hour layover became 9 1/2 hours. Too long to be in any airport with a toddler and an exhausted family. We were troupers and I am proud of how we all worked together, but I will not be signing up for that any time soon again. All that to say, I am home and even enjoying doing laundry because it means I AM HOME!!!!!!
The girls and I went grocery shopping tonight, all of us. Brighton just fits right in with the flow of things, thank God.
I will update the blog when I have information about her heart condition, which should be in the next two weeks. We are just following up on the heart surgery she received in China. There are no medical records given us for her surgery, only a scar that proves she had it. We want a cardiologist to look at her and give us some information concerning the state of her heart and what her future holds. We expect it all to be good, no reason to think other wise. Her skin is clearing up and none of us caught it. I can already tell that she and Breanne will be the best of buddies, turns out she needed us and we needed her, we are blessed all the way around. I don't know how to explain it, but once again, love has multiplied and we are just giddy over her.
A huge thank you to our family that is so involved in making this happen smoothly. First, my mom is amazing. While we were gone she made my house a home. I can not even describe all the things she did for our family, from organizing cabinets, getting extra house keys made, fixing cabinets, towel racks and the list goes on and on!!!
Mommy D (Mike's mom ) was her right hand helper, along with my dad that took my kids to and from school everyday!!!! I will forever be grateful for them, as I know that not everyone has such supportive family. Uncle Keith and Aunt Deborah are always there to greet us at the airport, along with our precious cousin Alexandra!!! It is their sweet smiling, supportive faces and camera skills that have been there for us all three adoptions. Melanie Tesnow, the world's best baby sitter, helped us out so much with transportation while we were gone. It truly took a village.
To my sweet friends that kept in contact with me along the way, giving me a smile when I need it most, I thank you and love you for it. To my new friends I have met in China, I am so glad our paths have crossed and we shared such a special time.
Lastly, if God is pulling at the strings of your heart to welcome one of His little ones in that needs a home, I highly recommend you say yes. It is worth it in a million ways it is worth it.
God Bless,
Tammy
